ARTIST STATEMENT

My current paintings are primarily about the manipulation and diffusion of light

as well as the illusion of depth.

The stretched stainless steel fabric functions as the foundation of these paintings,

while oil paint and UV ink act to control the way light emanates from the surface.

From a purely visual point of view, these paintings can be seen as echoing the

aesthetics of Japanese architecture and garden design.
